Up to this date I had never ever owned a single Plainswalker nor a foil rare. So, today me and my friend opened and shared one booster box... Out of the 18 I opened I got this card, and in the next booster there was Garruk Relentless, in the next a _foil_ mayor of avabruck, and in the next a _foil_ Geist of Saint Traft.
Damn.

Nice to see her price is going down finally. Still ~$33 but that's far better than what it was. I've just conceded to the fact that I'm not meant to have any. :-(

It's really a shame that her Innistrad promotional art is better (IMO) than her card art. Not to criticize this art, which fits Liliana almost perfectly -- it's just has a bit too much of that CG look to it.

So, I picked up some Innistrad and M12 packs the other day. In the last M12 pack I opened I finally got a Chandra, and in my first Innistrad pack I pulled this. I feel like this is the universe telling me to put together some kind of RB control/burn deck. Maybe discard Chandra's Phoenix with Liliana's +1 and bring it back into my hand with Chandra's? I'll have to look for other, more game ending combos.
Okay, fine, I actually just want to see if having them both in play at the same time gives me the kind of nerd erection that I think it will. DON'T JUDGE ME!

I honestly can't fathom her price tag, but I'm not the type to pay 40 for one magic card. Her first two abiliities are all you really need her for. Her ultimate's good, but not good enough to worth chucking 3 cards and not making your opponent sac anything. But alternating between the first two abilities with some proliferate or whatever can lock an opponent down while they're trying to stabilize, and you can use that advantage to get ahead and beat them down.

@Lord of Shadow - It's similar to legend rule except the subtype is all that matters. People played Jace Beleren in order to kill Jace, the Mind Sculptor. So 1
Jace Beleren basically could be "Destroy Jace, the Mind Sculptor" or keep opposing players from playing their Jaces.
So basically Liliana Vess and Liliana of the Veil would kill each other since they can't exist at the same time.

Question Can Liliana Vess be played with Liliana of the Viel. They are technically not the same Planeswalker (yes same person but not same card). I have heard a similar question before with can you play both Jace Beleren and Jace the Mindsculptor at the same time as they aren't the same Jace card. With that other question no one managed to actually answer it. I haven't managed to find rules against this yet.
