The art is awesome, while desperate, the battle is not hopeless.

Mainly just a sideboard card for any B or U/B control against aggro decks.

It is possible to maindeck it though in a W/B deck. Combo with Lightmine Field and Gideon Jura; GJ makes their creatures attack him, the Field wipes their side of the board clean, and this whomps their life total.

Not the best card, but interesting none the less.

3/5

Exquisite Blood, anyone??

Turn an attack into a creature dying with Blood Artist on the field.

Anti red aggro tech, I dig this but it feels a bit underpowered.

Majinara has some good insights on this card.

It does/can have its place though. My friends runs a W/B control deck using Hissing Miasma and things like Pillory of the Sleepless, Skullcage, and Souls of the Faultless. The point of this card is not necessarily to punish your opponent for attacking you but to tax them if they get brave or try to close out the game before you finally bleed them dry. You put them on a clock so they can't afford to not swing at you. The deck is intense and extremely successful though is weak against Red burn or R/B direct damage decks.

The moral of the story, in the right deck this can shine but be aware of its limitations.

U/B deck idea:
Blood Reckoning
Dissipation Field
Blood Seeker
Unsummon

Maybe splash red for things like Aggravate, Incite, or... (see all)

Since this card has saved me from a dozen saproling tokens trying to swarm over me I'm inclined to like it.

I think that "if x attacks you, it's controller loses life" cards are a bit overrated by new players. Why? First, because by itself, this card does nothing. It only makes your opponent lose life if he is ok with that. If your opponent runs an LD or combo or control or burn deck, he doesn't care about this card at all.
What's left? Aggro decks. Since you play this card, you won't play an aggro deck yourself. So most likely, if your opponent ain't doing so badly, he will have dealt more damage to you, than you to him (because he plays aggro and you don't). And this card won't change that.

Sure, in multiples some day it might get annoying, buit for that it's too expensive. 1/5

I once had a deck that repeatedly punished the other player for attacking. Lost most games, and really broke a few hearts in the others. This will go in as a 5th or 6th Hissing Miasma. Excellent...

Might be fun with {exquisite blood} but I wouldn't depend too heavily on this one
