Put it and Instill Infection in one deck - and you'll know what overcosted removal is, 'til the end of your days.

Since Trigon of Infestation creates 1/1 with Infest, I'd prefer that over this one. If there are creatures out of combat that I need to kill, well black already has plenty of alternatives for it.

Just throwing this out there, even with proliferate, you're not going to be clearing board very quick..

This is actually pretty decent removal in limited. It sucks in constructed, but oh well.

I think a lot of people dont like this. They forget that they wont always get out what they want to get out, and should you manage to get this out in a deck with proliferate as a primary or secondary theme, this is like a weaker carnifex demon, or the first ability of contagion clasp, yes, you have to have the proliferate to make it worth while, but once you do, this can help clear a board pretty quick.

I've had sealed events where I would have used this in a heartbeat because the only thing worse than overpriced removal is NO removal. If I can take out 3 cards with 1 card, that's a good deal in my book.

ok serrated arrows only it costs an extra 2 when you tap it.... and after you run out of counters you can tap it twice and pay 4 mana to put another -1/-1 counter... this sucks

I agree that this is being underrated - in a deck with proliferate it's pretty wicked.
You pay 2 and remove a counter to put the -1/-1 counter on an opposing critter, then proliferate. Put a new charge counter on this, and another -1/-1 on the creature.
With the right mix, it's a fairly constant supply of removal, unlike the one-shot DoomBlade, etc.
