Scion approves. Any of these dragons can wreak havoc in oh so many ways even if they are nowhere to be seen.

But, a quick question about it's effect. I was playing EDH with my Scion of the Ur-Dragon-deck and in a last ditch attempt to kill me (since I had dumped 20 dragons and played Patriarch's Bidding), my friend attacked with his Eldrazi. It's annihilator trigger ate some lesser dragons, and then I realized I had Keiga, and sacrificed him as well to gain control of his attacker. Now what happens? Is the attack negated or does the currently mind controlled Eldrazi continue his attack on his new master? We couldn't seem to find a solution anywhere =/

This card in a Dragon Storm deck turns it from an offensive deck to a thief deck. I like :-P

The big weakness with this guy is board-clearing spells and abilities. You can't grab a creature when there is no creature to grab.

That doesn't mean it isn't an extremely effective creature though, especially because of how splashable it is. 4.5/5

From one of my favorite sets comes one of my favorite creatures. Keiga is a solid Dragon that poses a viable threat when on the field or in the graveyard.

In my mind this is the best of the kamigawa dragons. From a card advantage perspective this card is pure gold.

If ur opponent uses a removal spell on it you take one of his creatures and he (or she) just lost 2 cards to your 0.
If it trades with an opposing creature same thing.
and even if ur opponents creature just straight up kills it you can take that creature and ur still up 1 card.

and its a solid 5/5 flying beatstick to top it all off.

and its a dragon which is awesome.

and it had the best art of the cycle.

so this card all around ROCKS!

Fun fact (well, not so fun for your opponent...) :
If you 're attacked by Emrakul or another annihilating Eldrazi, you can sacrifice Keiga when the annihilator resolves. Right after that, Keiga's ability delivers the opposing fattie's mind (or whatever) in your hands. And when a creature's controller changes, it's removed from combat! (506.4 in the Comprehensive Rulebook)

Reveling in sadistic glee optional.

I'm a big fan of any card that has my opponent trying to Bandage the very 5/5 flier I keep sending in suicidal charges against him. 5/5 for mindgames and great art alone. The art to this is I think the most beautiful of this cycle of dragons, and that's saying a lot. All the Star dragons have incredible art.

Time for a design story!

As Aaron Forsythe recounts (http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtgcom/daily/af38); Ryusei and Keiga, being in more dragon-centric colors, were allowed to be the most splashable, and as the dragons moved further and further from colors that most typically have dragons, they became that much less splashable, ending in the very green-centric Jugan.

This whole cycle is nuts with Mimic Vat, at least if you can get the tokens to die easily. Kokusho's obviously pretty sick too (and arguably better) but this one especially pushes my buttons.

With a sac engine handy, this can be your choice of "5 damage to your opponent and take their best creature" or "take your opponent's best creature and a second target creature becomes blocked" once per turn for 3.

With a Voltaic Key handy, this becomes "gain control of two target creatures" at instant speed once per turn for 7.

With neither handy you can still crank out one at opponent's EOT and another during your turn.
