God I love this card. Been running two if him in UW Humans since he was first released. Now he's even better IMO with the Detain abilities. Drop this T3 and then Lyev Skyknight T4. Love it lol. Damage gets by much easier. Use to pwn when Angelic Destiny was still standard. And pairing the Angel token with Silverblade Paladin makes my life so much better lol. 5/5

This thing is ridiculous. The only 'bad' thing about it is that you can block it with a 2/2, and people love to make this thing unblockable. Tricks of the Trade anyone?

If you Populate the angel token before end of combat, do you get to keep the copy?

@ultixes_Pyr: Yeah craterhoof behemoth, that card thats in every standard reanimator deck and certain combo decks is definitely not played at all. *cough* a combo deck with it as the primary win condition won a GP just last weekend *cough*

This is my favorite card in Magic :) Love this thing, the mascot of my main Legion Deck. Get him out there with Steel of the Godhead and Ring Of Thune and watch him grow, along with all my soldiers.

I play a casual birthing pod and bring him out. Not very good by turn 5, but swap on undying evil after he does damage and bring out a Skinrender. Im a casual player! Pulled him out of a pack, fun card to use.

Not a whole lot of ways to efficiently deal with Mr. Holier Than Thou in standard right now. Here's hoping we get a decent answer for him soon. Maybe some anti-token tech?

Its fun baiting someone to swing with him when your tapped for blockers so you can play druid's deliverance. It's even more fun if they don't counter it... or make him unblockable... or cloudshift him... or... or... jeez I hate trying to get rid of this thing.

...So I was considering doing some sort of exalted deck for modern and was looking for cheap mechanics. Since I wasn't completely satisfied with invisible stalker as my main stick jockey, I began my search. In a side project I decided to start the path to rules mastery. Apparantly this guy *can* get exalted as the syntax phrase "attacks alone" is defined in 702.81b as when you declare a single attacker during the declare attackers step. Geist counts as a single attacker when declared putting the exalted effects and the angel he summons on the stack together.

So you get your exalted and you get an extra body attacking. Plus the important part is that Geist laughs at your attempts to keep him from attacking due to his hexproof ability, and if your going with the classic colors (cause... *** black) you can give him rancor. Personally, I prefer a big trampler to a big unblockable for the reactions my opponents make.

...

Note: the exalted ability only effect geist, not the angel... (see all)

Sure having Parallel Lives out will double the tokens he makes, but I don't think the second token will enter the battlefield attacking.
