These guys and Doubling Cube can provide infinite mana so long as you start out with at least 10 (After that, the more the merrier). You can tap/untap an infinite number of times with 9 mana, but that really doesn't get you anywhere. Not too difficult to get both out by turn 2, but you still have to be able to produce the 10 mana to kick it off.

The Gilded Lotus and Heartstone is better for producing infinite mana as you don't need as much to kick it off (Zero, actually), but it's at a much higher cost. 3Blue for the Sages here, then 5 for Gilded Lotus and 3 for Heartstone is a total of 11Blue, as opposed to the 5Blue needed for the Doubling Cube combo.

@Kenji18
"Turn 3 Wake Thrasher
Turn 4 Filigree Sages
Turn 5 Gilded Lotus (tap Lotus, untap with Sages, repeat...), into infinitely big Wake Thrasher."

Turn 3: Wake Thrasher
Turn 4: Basalt Monolith

Same result, one turn faster, one fewer card.

These lads go absolutely bonkers once you disregard set limitations in your play group and throw in a Mycosynth Lattice. Then just get your endless mana combo of choice with friendly and fair cards like Metalworker or Tolarian Academy, draw your entire deck with Arcanis the Omnipotent and exile your opponents' libraries with Oona, Queen of the Fae. Or just Fabricate Door to Nothingness and make sure your opponents aren't carrying too many sharp objects. Too bad the Sages become pretty much the main target of everything that can be thrown at it, including furniture and old shoes, after the first time you pull out your Lattice. But hey, there's no such thing as overkill and we're not pulling any punches around here!

This makes Lux Cannon into a semi-auto. Add Training Grounds for machine gun.

Liquimetal Coating = "Untap target permanent"

And this is one of the less "broken" combos.

This with Training Grounds, then drop a Prototype Portal imprinting Seat of the Synod.

If you can't win on turn 4 due to infinite landfall, artifact ETB triggers or affinity going nuts, you win turn 5 with your infinite blue mana pool.

You can also combo Gilded Lotus with this and Heartstone for infinite mana.

well, this creature is immediately not that interesting, but it's potential is mostly unrealized. with some luck, you can use him to replicate the effects of your much needed artifacts to do some major damage! or maybe use them to untap artifacts and give you game changing effects, building momentum is easy with a card like this!
his biggest effect is with a card most of you biggots don't really give enough props to... Obelisk of alara, but not only her, but Master Transmuter and if you just want to be mean Master of Etherium.
