As a philosophy major I really enjoy this flavor text. WOTC has always done a great job of providing interesting text to it's cards.

P.S. love the discussion/debate btw =)

I really like this card; I run it in my pauper deck. Protection from terror, boom blade and go for the throat are beautiful things

Wow, you 2 completely miss the flavor. Bant does have a very organized religion, just because it may have more then 1 god, does not make it a chaotic religion. The angels/gods set down the laws of the land, hence the ritualistic combat/dueling found in bant, shown through the exhaulted keyword.

"The citizens of Esper already have concrete established views on life and the behemoths on Naya will just eat or step on her."

She does not have to worry about behemoths, she is going where there is black mana, no black in naya. You can see in the background, grixis, where she would be untouchable basicly. Also, anywhere there is black or red mana, there is chaos and death, you think those who have to live in chaos and death dont want order? and no matter where you live, what mana you have, there are those who wish for something else, you think the tidehallow scullars like their life?

bascly the cycle is good, 2/2 for 2 with common enemy protection is awesome

I always like somthing that has protection from black. The flavor text seems odd though. What exactly would bant be converting other to? They don't really seem to have any organised religion.

I'm now stuck with the most interesting picture of her debating religion and philosophy with a Prince of Thralls and not come back squished flat... It's quite hilarious... A bit odd, and far fetched for flavor... But I guess it works.

Wait, why is a citizen of Bant venturing out into other worlds of Alara to debate philosophy? It sounds interesting but ignores a certain logic here; every other creature is going to kill this woman before she has a chance to debate her philosophy. The citizens of Esper already have concrete established views on life and the behemoths on Naya will just eat or step on her. Guess all those years debating her beliefs was for nothing, wasn't it?

This and the Goblin Outlander are the weakest of the Outlander cycle, simply because each shares a color with a better 2-mana protection creature.
