Why isn't she a spirit?

Well whatever, it is still one of the coolest black creatures of all time even if it isn't all that great.

I love how all these people bust on swampwalk, like no one EVER uses black... please. 3/3 landwalk for 4 is definitely respectable, and the card is cool with nice artwork.

There are plenty of cards that will work with this creature, including Convinving Mirage for U/B combo decks and the classic Evil Presence in older formats.

3/5

It's a fairly large black creature with no drawbacks. Why is anyone complaining about this card ever?

@ Laguz

She's not a Spirit because she's a Wraith! Wraiths the are undead that are bound to the swamps.

I like this card. I've always thought a 3/3 for four mana was pretty solid, and swampwalk is a neat, flavorful ability.

Swampwalk might be useful against pure black and/or multicolor decks (which include black... NO SHIT SHERLOCK!). 3/3 is a reasonable strength however the (4) summoning cost is tad too much (one could argue swampwalk is worth the extra mana). Logistics aside the art is just gorgeous and the flavor text simple yet cool. I'd give it a 3/5, nothing amazing but a nice addition for any collector of black cards.

Landwalk cards are really only great for SB material. Paying 1 extra for an effect that isn't going to be used is pointless. Still, good artwork and flavor text.

You people have no idea how easy it is to build a swamp/island walk deck.
contaminated soil spreading sea >convincing mirage and evil presence< as mentioned earlier phantasmal terrain and many others. think out side the box. MTG is filled with situational cards, make those situations happen. Granted, Back to nature would be your worst nightmare, but Johnny stimulates Spike.
