I don't see anyone talking about this card and trample, so I have to give a shout out to every big green trampler ever. Sure you can block my 6/6 trampling deathtoucher with three 0/8 walls, but I only have to do 1 damage to each before I can trample the rest over.
My friends are not happy about this rules interaction seen below.
702.17b The controller of an attacking creature with trample first assigns damage to the creature(s) blocking it. Once all those blocking creatures are assigned lethal damage, any remaining damage is assigned as its controller chooses among those blocking creatures and the player or planeswalker the creature is attacking.
702.2b Any nonzero amount of combat damage assigned to a creature by a source with deathtouch is considered to be lethal damage, regardless of that creature's toughness.

Also, this is about 1/8 the price of the basilisk collar, and for the sake of the tramplers, go big or go home.
There is no such thing as "pretty much stric... (see all)

@arikmoon and JacksJokeShop

Deftblade Elite's activated ability states that combat damage dealt to and dealt by the Deftblade is prevented. Now, being as deathtouch can only be applied if the creature deals damage, and Deftblade activates his "prevent damage dealt to and BY Deftblade Elite, deathtouch cannot trigger. In short, No Damage=No Deathtouch. Whoever you were playing against screwed up, arik.

Stopping your opponents dead in their tracks: Brigid, Hero of Kinsbaille equipped with Gorgon Flail. I run 4 of this equip in my archer deck, just because archers make such great pingers.

not strictly worse than basilisk collar, since this gives a creature with no power (like a wall) a power to use deathtouch with.
but worse most of the time though...

I know someone who runs a few of these alongside some Vulshok Sorcerors and Prodigal Pyromancers. He also has a Wojek Embermage that he throws the Flail onto.

Out of my experience I'd say Deathbringer Thoctar and Wojek Embermage are some of the best since they can hit so many creatures without much risk of retaliation.

I think the best combo here would the the cunning sparkmage. i would value it over the pyromancer simply because it costs the same, but the sparkmage has haste. this mean you dont give your opponent the chance to remove the sparkmage before it can do some serious damage.

What about Pestilence Demon? Does he wrath all creatures if he's equipped?

This would have been fantastic in 2010 limited, for the same reason why many pieces of equipment are great in limited (Warlord's Axe, I'm looking at you). Deathtouch can turn even a Llanowar Elves into pseudo-spot removal. A 2/2 that can take down a Kalonian Behemoth? Yes please.
