The art is leaving out the part where she bought him a red bull before that.

BTW, I know Lorwyn block is over, but I still wish more of these things (ESPECIALLY Angelic Destiny) had the tribal supertype. C'mon, Eldrazi Conscription had it and it wasn't Lorwyn, so why not this?

In limited this isn't too shabby. With lifelinkers, this kept me in many games.

Yet another example of the art in Avacyn Restored that I love so much.

Won't be a game changer, but definitely impactful in limited. Adding the Angel sub-type is nothing to sneeze at.

Combine with Call to the Kindred on a creature like Invisible Stalker or Geist of Saint Traft to tutor up additional humans/spirits/and angels and drop them into play every turn for free. Multiple copies means more big angel drops.

I find it rather odd that Vexing Devil can get enchanted by this, but Deathpact Angel can't.

Back when I first started Magic this was one of my favourite cards, and as far as flavour goes, it still is. The idea of a person being granted angelhood just seems so heroic to me, it's perfect for representing the better side of the White colour.

Everything about this card is a perfect marriage of flavour and mechanics; the +1/+2 bonus fits the theme of angels being powerful but defensive, the flight is both useful and artistic, and by restricting the possible targets to non-black creatures, the card only emphasizes the holiness of its effects.

My only problem with this card is that it didn't get the support it needed from the rest of the set. Powercat says it all, the Angel typing just doesn't matter in the context of this aura. I'd have loved to have seen a couple more cards that interacted with angels while they're on the battlefield. Maybe later sets will make this aura a little more significant, maybe not, but I'll love it all the same.

Innistrad Block was a masterpiece.

How can be this worse than Spectral Flight, while this is clearly a White effect? And then wotc blames it all on mana leak and snapcaster mage, while giving the best aggro creatures/cards to Blue :(

In a vacuum, this isn't a bad card at all, but it is mostly worse than Spectral Flight, printed only two sets ago at the same rarity. I can find exactly two cards that will be in standard when AVR joins the standard pool that care whether you have an angel in play: Scroll of Avacyn and Bladed Bracers, and Bladed Bracers provide the same benefit to humans as to angels, and I think it's safe to say this will mostly enchant humans. All of the other cards that care about angels depend on ETB or graveyard, which this won't be involved in. On top of all this, it is still an aura, so it's likely to get 2-for-1ed. All this adds up to a 2/5 rating.

You know, since every angel in Magic is female (Planar Chaos aside), does that mean that a man would turn female once he were to be "uplifted" to angelhood?

I think this could have cost {W} and not been too much. I mean, Auras really do need pushing.

Also, the creatures they print nowadays don't even NEED any auras anymore. Elvish Piper is the LEAST of your worries- just plain Green Mana Dorks, Birthing Pod, and Reanimator all exist in STANDARD.

And beyond that, you can cast lots of crap for Free using really broken dumb stuff.

And in Commander, you have KAALIA OF THE VAST.

Honestly, the least they could do is make the Auras sharply playable, considering how hard it is for that subtype to get any attention in the same room with all those things I just said.

Love Love Love the flavor. Effect is a slightly better Holy Strength. Cool card idea, just needs 'oomph'.
