I've always liked this card, even if more for design than playability.

Modular—Sunburst

A beautiful blend of keywords right there.

The more obvious problem with this is that Modular only helps artifact creatures. For this to be used to its fullest, you need to be playing a lot of artifact creatures AND multiple colours. Although the Vivid lands were printed, getting anywhere more than 3 colours is going to be a chore.

In limited, 3 colours isn't that odd to play around. However, sometimes you just can't get that 3rd land, and are stuck playing with just 2 of your 3 colours, even on turn six. What do you do then? Do you make a 2/2 for 6, or do you wait until the next turn, hoping to get that 3rd colour? It's just one of the problems of Limited that you have to work around. Empty the Warrens works just the same: do you wait for a cheap spell to add on 2 more tokens, or just work with 2 1/1 tokens for 3Red?

All in all, this is either above average or absolutely worthless.

Now at Common! I've always loved that this creature had both Sunburst and Modular.
Screw Draft, I'm Constructing a deck with this and the Zeniths and Composite Golem. It will be Epic. :D

Is it a great card? No, far from it. But it's a cool card.
