How great would it be to have two of these and Myr Superion in your opening hand?

i want to use this guy to get demon of death's gate out on turn one. I'm thinking either vault skirge or the one mc living weapon with this guy and mox opal would do it. Then give him tainted strike and win turn two.

Green Sun's Zenith is also a good opener with this guy. Drop a Forest, some Chancellor of the Tangle and Simian Spirit Guide. What would you like to play from the deck.

Chancellor of the Tangled isn't very a good card. It's reveal ability is the worst out of all the chancellor's.

On the play, reveal four from your opener and proceed to play Garruk Wildspeaker. You then realise his first ability has no legal targets so proceed to pump out a 3/3. Fun times ahead?

I can't seem to see how this thing's abilities tie in with both the creature, and each other.
First up, the "Chancellor" perk. That's kinda cool, I'll admit. Potentially speeds up your first turn, but other than that, eh. If you don't have a 2-drop, this won't help you too much.
Now, can someone explain to me why a beast has reach and vigilance? Those are the last two keywords I would think of when looking at this thing. Trample is an obvious choice, but overall, I don't mind too much. Maybe it's so big it can just pluck a drake out of the sky, I dunno.
What irks me the most about this card is how disjointed it's abilities are. Every other Chancellor's abilities have lined up, from generating tokens to slowing opponents. So explain to me the relation between generating mana and being a massive, walking net to catch dragons? I'm not seeing the connection, Wizards.

Would be way sweeter if revealing him granted an emblem with something like "at the beginning of your pre-combat main phase add {G} to your mana pool." A nice little nod to Eladamri's Vineyard, but not as obscenely fast paced.

Go second
Opening Hand: Chancellor of the tangle and of the Forge, Assault strobe, 1 giant growth, 3 mutagenic growth, Mountain.
Reveal both, Get 1 and a hasty goblin, play mountain. Assault Strobe, 1/1 double Striker, pay six life, 7/7 double striker, giant growth 10/10 double striker. Of course it doesn't have trample so your opponent need only block with a 1/1 but...

Not a spectacular card but I plan on using it for mana turn 1 and then exiling it for Allosaurus Rider. I'm not used to playing three creatures on the first turn (even though that means you've spend 6 cards already).
Best contender I can think of for the one drops is Experiment One.
Show Chancellor of the Tangle -> forest -> Experiment One x2 -> Allosaurus Rider
Assuming you play a forest next turn that's two 2/2s and a 3/3 ready to attack turn two.
