This card suffered from needing new Oracle wording (although it obviously did need it). Too clunky to take seriously, unfortunately.

Drop the cost by a mana, and this might of seen play...

There's just no good wording here, it has to hit attacking artifact critters, while also punishing artifact activations...they did the best they could :/
Anyway, it is a bit expensive, but it, against the right deck, can be very punishing :P

My only combo consideration would be Mycosynth Lattice, then sit back with a few counterspells to protect it. Since all permanents become artifacts, if they do anything they will take damage.

Oh look, its one of them new-fangled Myr Galvanizer or Myr Battlesphere decks... shucks, too bad for them...

this thing completely ends an affinity deck.

Painful wording, but an interesting idea. Also, it is a logical way for black to mess with artifacts... too bad black has basically lost that ability entirely over the years.

Manabarbs for artifacts.
Reverse Powerleech.

Flavour's kind of a mess. Some kind of black wind spell that attracts malicious spirits to your opponent's artifacts? Grokable fantasy staples at their finest.
