@allmighty abacus - The problem I have with portal 3k is that every card costs something like 10-50 times as much as it should. I understand people want to pimp out their decks, but personally I draw the line well before $25 versions of Bloodscent or $41 Royal Assassins.

There are no 4/2 flyers in Magic! This guy, Tek, and Bog Tatters are as close as it gets.

The problem I had with portal 3K was that it had no fantasy element. It was just a chinese-dynasty inspired yawnfest. There was no actual magic element in a game called Magic. Just men on horseback wielding swords fighting other men on horseback wielding swords, with a few archers thrown in. Even blacks' lifedraining spell in the set was called stolen grain.
