As far as alternate art goes, making a creature half its size and sapient is pretty alternate.

This still finds its place in a modern green deck. 5/5 for 6 isn't exactly on the curve, but it's hard to stop and tricky to get rid of, which offsets the cost beautifully.

So they added errata to make it a rhino. Then they made a rhino race and called them Rhoxes, based on this alternate art.
