I love the odd combination of a 9/7 for 9R. And much more so, I loved being able to threaten with 9 hasty damage every turn since turn four. Casting Damnation on turn four at 12 life had never been this dangerous.

Play this guy as a mean surprise in a Kobold deck. Add some Ornithopter, Memnites...

He's red. Since when does red have creatures with matching power and toughness?

I like him. I agree though, Mode, he would've been a little more aesthetically pleasant if he was a 10/10 for 10 or Suspend 10.

What, is there a lesser Gargadon?

I suspect he is 9/7 because he is red. Red does that thing.

@ Omenchild
That logic is terrible, the obvious next question is, "well then why is that card 6/4? I feel as though a four drop with that much of a drawback could be an even 6/6." Your reply rebounded a trait to another trait, without explaining the actual cause of said trait. For instance, why is that flower red? The correct answer would be "because the pigments in its petals make it appear red." an equivalent to your answer would be "Because the parent plant was red as well." You explained how the trait came to be, but not why.
Consider your answer before you start whining about things.

I just noticed that this is a 1-mana nearly uncounterable instant-speed free creature, land, or artifact Sacrifice outlet on top of being an eventual 9/7 hasted body
I just fell in love with Black/Red combos. YOU CAN'T KILL MY SAC OUTLET HAHHAHHAH!!!
Treacherous Pit-Dweller.
