This was made to put a Saproling on a creature spell without actually putting a saproling on a creature spell.

think of it this way, a 1/1 flash for one mana. Pretty good for devouring or blocking and buffing.

This is the art I think of when I put saproling tokens into play. Invasion saps are the worst looking.

Missing the point. This is a must for pollymorph decks because its not a creature, but gives you a creature token.

Works with the thalids that sac saprolings for abilities.

I hate it when all people can only think about is how well things work with doubling season. Doubling season, intruder alarm, and isochron scepter. 3 cards that require no thought at all.

Achilles, Vitality Charm has a much less relevant tribe, so I wouldn't say strictly.

It doesn't seem all that great, but it can be devestating when played with certain cards like Giant Growth and Primal Forcemage.

Keep in mind that if this were an ability for G on a creature to bring out a 1/1 saproling this would be insanely cheap, but it's not. In addition to the casting cost you also lose a draw, and a card slot in your deck. I generally assign the value of a draw and a card slot in my deck (somewhat arbitrarily) as 3 mana, so when I want to compare the value of cards I just add 3 mana cost to each of them and consider them to be like abilities. So, for example, as an ability, this would cost 4, balduvian bears would cost 5, with the restriction that it can only be played as a sorcery. Anyway, it's not bad, but it's not great either.
