Extremely useful in white control. And the artwork is really great.

I use this card to create a Lockdown Mode. Get one of these out and any combination of Greater Aura Mastery or especially Privileged Position (so they shroud each other) and then none of your permanents nor you can be targeted indefinitely. Combine these factors to a card that somehow makes your permanents indestructible - use Elspeth, Knight-Errant - and you can find some interesting ways to win, usually involving the other player realizing he has to concede!

True Believer is a neat card against discard & burn decks, but it dies fairly easy. Even if you manage to slap Shroud on this, it'll still die to Pyroclasm and other similar effects.
My best advice is to skip the Enchantments and simply use equipment to protect this guy - General's Kabuto from the Kamigawa block works really well with True Believer, providing both Shroud & "Cho-Manno-ism", making it fairly hard to kill.

@ GrimjawxRULES; General's Kabuto only prevents combat damage, so Pyroclasm would still kill him. Try Inviolability, or better yet, Indestructibility.

@tijame: I'm pretty sure this does not stop Annihilator, since Annihilator does not "target" you.

@ tijame:

No. Annihilator refers to the defending player, who is being attacked. It is not a targeted ability. Unless the defending player controls something like a Tajuru Preserver, or is capable of Stifle-ing or Trickbinding the Annihilator ability on the stack, they will be forced to sacrifice permanents as Annihilator resolves during Declare Attackers step.

However, True Believer's ability will prevent you from becoming the target of cards such as Chainer's Edict, Diabolic Edict, Cruel Edict, Geth's Verdict, and even Cruel Ultimatum as all of those cards refer to a target player or opponent. However, Innocent Blood, Grave Pact, and Butcher of Malakir will still affect a player with shroud. When those spells or abilities resolve each affected player will... (see all)
