@GrimjawxRULES - If you have any of the (God knows how many, at least 30) white cards that boost the toughness of creatures you control, this is better. By a factor, even.
Example: You have this, Darien, king of Kjeldor and Coat of Arms in play. You are dealt 10 damage. You get 10 1/1s, and Assuming you have no other soldiers, (Big assumption in soldier swarm) you would gain 100 life. The 1/1s would be 10/10s, and you are most likely going to win next round. Soul warden would gain you a pitiful (in comparison) 10 life. Even something as mundane as Daru Warchief in play you will still gain 10 2/3s and 30 life.

many infinite combos are based off of this card. For example, phyrexian walker, carnival of souls, mortuary, greed, and Ashnod's Altar is infinite mana. There are many shorter ones, but that's just a black and white one.

It might not be an infinite combo, but I think another interesting combo with this card is to play Ajani Goldmane 's -6. You basically double your life total, and the token scales immediately afterwards to your new life total, so you can go from 20 life to 40 and then get a 40/40 token in the process.

Darien, King of Kjeldor seems like the best. Though its shut down by a simple terror, its like a better version of platinum angel. Except verse mill and infect and "you win" of course.
With platinum angel they can burn you to negative then remove angel, with this combo they cant do that.
