To be fair, this only really became broken when people realised they could combo it with Chimney Imp...

This card is broken.
1) you can play any number of them. This means you can always draw it when you need it. Just cause of this it's also better than Mox Jet and Dark Ritual because you only have a MAXIMUM 1/15 chance of drawing each of those (assuming you could even run 4 Mox Jet) whilst theres a 1/3 chance in most mono black decks of drawing this.
2) It's free. For no cost whatsoever, you get a black mana once per turn. That's broken.
3) With an Ice Manipulator in play, you can filter any mana to untap this for a BLACK mana. That's amazing in a multi color deck if you need extra black mana.
Seriously, the only time i've ever lost playing this card was against my opponent's Storm Crow Deck.
