1 life for each card. If you don't care much for life loss, Moonlight Bargain out does it. In EDH, you can run both of these.

Unless you're going to use this, you might want to spash blue and add Distant Melody instead in case you're running a tribal deck.
This card would be quite interesting if it was just cheaper, though...
