problem with this and howling mine has always been that you get the ability last

This card is great fun in multiplayer games. It really speeds things up and makes otherwise costly creatures and spells easily playable.

The card that inspired all the mill/fog decks that still try to make a comeback to this day.

@Gwafa_Hazid: Clever, but not going to lie, sounds annoying to play against. Most players don't like running against an opponent that doesn't try to actively win, but just sits back and waits for you to lose.
Grimjawx is definitely correct in saying this is great in multiplayer, if you're okay with being Group Hug-y. I might just cross that line with my enchantress deck.

This card and Howling Mine is a good combo for getting out Fog and Constant Mist, also good with Archmage Ascension. It's a good card for milling an opponent's library, the more they draw, the more you pull out of their deck. Also good for Landfall ability.

This thing is a lot better than people think.
You play this turn 3:
if you were on the draw, you just gained that extra land drop the other player got. Sure they get to draw a extra card next turn, but that just evens things out.
If you were on the play, you just gained a turn with the other player drawing a card later.
Extra mana, extra cards, and an imidate effect! Everything a deck could want; control, agro, combo, every deck. (That can make the green mana for it.)

@Mudbutt_on
Well, I'm currently trying a GW deck in the vein of Howling Mine/Rites of Flourishing/Fog/Holy Day, and my win condition is Wheel of Sun and Moon, then wait for the opponent to deck themselves.

There are green control decks out there that use Howling Mine abilities to continually draw Fog type cards. Can't remember how they win though...
