That combo seems to generate a 11/9, not a 14/12...
More importantly though, you would have to go second since you would need 10 cards, have an absolutely perfect draw, hope for the highly unlikely event that your opponent doesn't have any blockers with a total toughness greater than 2, and pray he doesn't have any creature removal or damage prevention spells.

You cannot get a Myr Superion out first turn with this guy, because you can't play the Magus until during your precombat main phase, at which point you are too late to get the extra mana. Turn 2, however, is very good.

Easy way to abuse it: Aether Vial. Turn one Vial, then put this into play during your upkeep. That way, you get to use the extra mana before the opponent.

T1 : Magus of the Vineyard
T2 : Somberwald Sage (+ Llanowar Elves optional)
T3 : 7 cmc creature (or 8cmc if you have succeeded on dropping the Llanowar Elves)

As it has been said, the key here is anticipation, you put it when you KNOW you're gonna put something big pretty soon, since this pretty much helps your opponent first, it's a pretty solid disadvantage.
