I can't really think of a card that really makes control cringe like this one. Mr. Teeg here will be target Numero Uno if he slips by un-countered. And that's good. There are very few 2 drops that can hit the table shouting answer me now like this guy. If they do answer him, big whoop, they wasted ammo on your 2 drop. If they don't, your horde of Zoo critters is going to show them the door.

I had this guy out and my friend 'played' a living weapon cmc 5 with Stoneforge Mystic and said he could do it because 'played' means cast and he wasn't casting it. Is it true?

Your friend is correct. Putting something into play is not the same as playing it. The oracle text for this card uses the term "cast" which is much less confusing.
