I wish this were legendary; how I'd love to build an EDH deck around it...

EDIT:

Edric, Spymaster of Trest - UG EDH deck based around Maro effects here we come!

Overbeing + reliquary tower + thought reflection on following turn. At least make your opponent work for it. You can play a diplomatic immunity on her as well and then just reserve cards in your hand to keep her power up. Even better if you have cards with forecast. The way to look at it is overbeing of myth is a creature version of jace beleren, you can't reach the ultimate mill 20 off library that jace has, but you also never have to let your opponent also draw a card, getting an extra card draw every upkeep plus a creature that can at least chump block if you need it too. Only problem I have with this card is that it should have been 1+ cards in hand, because if you have to use up your cards you kill the creature too. Its best to use cards to get her power up a bit that will keep her in play if you run out of cards, like murkfiend liege, jund charm, mayael's aria, or her own enchantment favor of the overbeing.

A neat twist on Maro, though from my own experience in using the Overbeing, its almost never a powerful creature on its own and is always under the constant threat of removal. 5 for an extra card draw is okay in green but only passable in blue.

Now we've got Venser's Journal, I can see ridiculous lifegain/kill combos with this. Gonna be painful.

This, Soul's Majesty and Psychosis Crawler. I actually built a green deck that wins games by drawing cards. And when milling yourself becomes a problem - Elixir of immortality can't be wrong. Oh, and don't forget Reliquary tower.

@Wanderer25: I think it'd be more fun to run this in a Damia, Sage of Stone deck. It should always be a 7/7 when attacking, because you can hold your spells off until next turn. Then you can play semi-group hug with cards like Rites of Flourishing and similar draw effects. With Anvil of Bogardan, this and Multani, Maro-Sorcerer will be having Timmy grinning from ear to ear.

@Sironos: Why waste a card on Spellbook when you can run Reliquary Tower? Financially, the tower is more expensive, but not out of most player's budgets, and it's sure worth having a card that does more than just sit there when you have 7 or less cards.

Nice with the extra draw, though it doesn't quite live up to its name. With spell book however...

Nice art, nice overall creature. Really feel like making an aggro / control deck and pack 4 of these.
