Awesome card - mana production compared to manacost is simply ridiculous, but on the other hand, four mana may be considered too late by many people.

I'd love this as a (functional) reprint. With Everflowing Chalice with three modes at 2, 4 and 6 (and 2 is the most used, which Dynamo can't do), I believe the Dynamo would be perfectly fair today.

It costs 4 times as much as Mana Vault to play, and yet is still playable. That should tell you something about the power of artifact mana in the early days of Magic.

@ultratog: are you thinking of the metathran? The thran were just a an old civilization with exceptionally strong technology, while the metathran were genetically engineered super-soldiers created by urza to fight the Phyrexian invasion.
