@Gezus82: A Manland is good. A Manland that can be a Sliver, or an Elf, or an Ally, or any other type of creature you might need is VERY good.

I'm almost sure that the answer is no, the Blademaster's ability will not trigger because an ally isn't coming into play. the Mutavault becomes an ally (among other things) but since it was already in play, the ability is not triggered. HOWEVER, any ally ability that counts the number of allies in play can be helped by using mutavault's ability.

Sorry, but Mutavault really does need the tribal synergies to be good.
Otherwise you play Mishra's Factory. Although "both" is fine if you don't need much colored mana for whatever reason.
