A very, very powerful card for such a low mana cost, though only in a goblin deck. You can sacrifice it to any number of goblin cards like goblin bomb or arms dealer, then attack, bring it back and play it for its prowl cost (or less, with a frogtosser banneret or goblin war chief). From there, you could sacrifice it again if you wanted, or keep it for next turn... It's like Squee, Goblin Nabob, except with attacking power and an easy cheap cost effect.

I've always cringed at 3/1's for 3. It's a rare, a non-red goblin and can't block. It's like a conditional Undead Gladiator, that doesn't draw you cards.

Hm. I'm not sure how I feel about this edition of the Nether Shadow pedigree. He looks like he should be wonderful, but I haven't enjoyed him as much as I'd hoped. He'd be overpowered if he could block, but as it stands he's completely invalidated if the opponent controls a single creature with first strike or toughness of 4. And if he gets killed by combat damage he won't be in the graveyard in time for his recursion to trigger.
I may just be spoiled by Gravecrawler. Comes out sooner, can be brought back more cheaply, with less fuss and more than once per turn, and with tribal support he can easily be a 5/4, have deathrouch, or be sac fodder to a Fleshbag Marauder or Grimgrin. Maybe goblins can use this guy better than rogues, but goblins are a very powerful archetype so I assume they have better choices.
Ah well. Still better than Akuta, Born of Ash.
