I really don't understand how you could say this card is somehow inferior to Bestial Menace. This one has built in recursion, whereas Menace does not. I'm inclined to agree with Wasp228.

it can be rather helpful when you're deep into a game with tons of mana, you can just keep retracing it to get multiple 3/3 creatures on the field.

This is basically a Beast Attack you can replay at any time by discarding a land. Turn all the spare lands you draw late game in to 3/3 tokens, how can you not love that?

@lorendorky
with retrace you have to pay the normal mana cost too...

combo with garruk's packleader
Edit: Synergize with Garruck's Packleader ;) you essentially pay 3GG to cycle a land and get a 3/3 token.

The real use for this card works in Commander and Singleton builds. The retrace serves a good purpose there to make use of unneeded lands in the hand.

Turns those land topdecks late game into 3/3 beat sticks...that said if you are running this it's probably for the face that it is reusable, I personally think this is a bit overcosted, now if this was an instant i would say the {3}{G}{G} casting cost would be justified, because then you could cast it as a combat trick, then continue to use it late-game at the end of your opponents turns...and if they counter it, so what? It goes back into your graveyard unless they counter it with something like Assert Authority
