your "forests" are called green mana.
but you're right, that's a more useful version of Canopy Spider for monogreen decks.
overall not worth using in constructed, though.

@Wurmcaller: if you know anything about Lord of the Rings, you should know what he meant...
As for the card; it's tempting to use, seeing as there is a long list of spiders out there, but it's a little to weak to be playable. Yes, that's part of having a CMC of 2, but i guess i like offense more than defense.
