@tavaritz: The reason is that state-based effects, like a creature being put into a graveyard for having zero power, are only checked before players get priority, i.e. after each spell/ability is put onto or removed from the stack. This guy's ability is a triggered ability, so it triggers in the middle of other spells' resolution (such as Momentary Blink).

You guys just don't get it. Make a crocodile deck without this guy or changelings, then report back to me.

why is this rated so low?! 4 for a 5/5 with a teensy drawback that most likely wont trigger (especially in a green deck)

It's rated so low because it's a bad card. That downside is relevant, yet there aren't a lot of positive things going on for the Crocodile. 5/5's for four are not rare anymore, so why bother with one who's got the potential to turn your opponent's spells into two-for-ones?

Like any Crocodile, pairs well with In A While.

Why does this trigger during a resolution of a spell when Maro doesn't trigger during resolution of Wheel of Fortune.
