Unless I'm missing something, Convincing Mirage is outright strictly better, not just very close to it. Same oracle text, same type line, only difference between them is this costs UU and Mirage costs 1U.

Oh and here's a picture of a rowboat.

Reminds me of Dandan, which I thought was a strange name for a pair of strange rowboat-shaped monsters until years later I finally noticed the fish hiding under the water...
