Interesting creature type, plant elephant. The game definitely needs more plants. Then players can literally make a garden variety deck.

I think trample is nice, but on the flip side its 5 for a 5/3 that can provide trample to a good number of creatures that already come with it, and also that a number of enchantments and green abilities give trample. I'd rather have another 5/5 in its place, personally, though depending on how much trample is in another deck others might decide they need it. I have a titanic ultimatum and behemoth sledge, and two of my creatures have trample, so its not as relevant for me. It would be better even if it had trample, and then gave trample, in fact it might have been cooler if all the naya beasts worked that way so you didn't have to pay the 1 mana for the creature to give it to itself.
@ r-e-meatyard, I agree, photosynthetic moss would be the idea if I had to guess, growing in its fur. What exactly that does for a mastadon I have no idea.. but since there are siege mastadons in this same set, I have to assume its the same thing, and the naya version simply has this green moss fu... Trample is a very relevant ability in limited decks. The fact that it only has one green in its casting cost means that it's a good high pick, even if it's the only creature in the deck with 5+ power.

Solid creature for limited and versatile for casual.
As for the creature type, I like to think that it's a symbiosis. Like flatworms with dinoflagellates (photosynthetic protists) living in their backs. Except in this case it's an Elephant and some non-vascular plant. Ok...I'm a dork.

I would like it to have trample inherintly but that is ok, it is still powerful and only 1 green at drop 5 is good with the multi color push atm

A plant elephant? Absurd, but extremely interesting and cool.
