This guy is an incredibly awesome lord. Sure, he is a 2/2 personally, but his effect is insane. In a deck laden with cheap creatures which are easily pulled from the Graveyard, deattouch and +1/+1 is bannanas.

You couldn't even do a legitimate Skeleton tribal until this guy arrived. Skeletons were usually only an annoying roadblock for opponents, but with this guy, skeletons become flat out dangerous, thanks to almost all of them having regeneration of some kind. Death Baron is quite boring as another Zombie Lord, albeit very useful, but the overproduced Zombie tribe didn't need him. 5/5

I love how several people are hating on this card because it has a 2/2 body. Chances are that if someone is running a zombie tribal they also have Cemetery Reaper, Diregraf Captain, Undead Warchief or some of the other creatures that increase the stats of zombies. Also with the sheer number of black cards that bring creatures back from your graveyard, and several nice ones that are zombie specefic, it's not much of a problem if he does die. 5/5

Interestingly enough, this makes Ice Age's Gangrenous Zombies basically a board wipe. Also interacts well with Fleshbag Marauder, making the decision to block or not to block much more difficult.

Is it just me, or is the Death Baron wearing the Fallen Angel hat?
