It's hard to imagine this thing having a detrimental effect on limited at 3BB, or even at 4B. So i guess the high mana cost is just there to make this one a "skill tester".
It'd be worth two stars if it were a Zombie Horse Cat.

I don't see why people hate this card so much. It seems pretty average to me.

One of my friends used this in an unearth deck back when shards came out. I still make fun of him for it.

A Zombie Cat is fine, too.

Leotaus are a native species to Bant, and corpses of which from ages past found in Grixis.
They're lion/horse hybrids. They're semi-intelligent and make great mounts for the knights of Bant.
Wish they made good corpses.

Horsecat!!!!! But seriously, this card is crap. You have to pay RRR to just make it a 6/1 for a total of 9 mana. I guess they decided to make it so crappy because it has unearth, but in this situation it doesn't help much.

Why is pretty much every common grixus creature utterly useless?
