Although i think this could have used a casting cost of 
and accordingly an equip-cost of instead (like Bonesplitter for example), cheaper equipment-swapping wouldn't have been game-breaking for such a little effect would it?

This is a card that really wants Flash. And Equip Flash. Reach is just one of those abilities that never gets used (it gets played around).

this card is amazing, put this on a great sable stag and it slows down all the over blown vampire decks. it also makes it so red players have to send 2 lightning bolts to kill it. And before I get those white players that like normal come back with " ok I'll just path to exile it" ok for the the same 1 mana you can play vines of vastwood(on a side note one of my favorites out of the set) or brave the elements in extended with a painters servant on the field

It's actually a decent Equipment, but it might be easier to use if the casting cost was raised to {1} and the Equip cost was reduced to {1}.

a nice card, in limited, attach it to a Caravan Hurda to have a 1/7 reacher with lifelink, a 7 boby, well there are only 2 creatures I can think of with 7+ power in zendikar, Iona, Sheild of Emeria and Terra Stomper, yes I know there are pump cards, and cards that can get bigger then 7, but these are the only 2 you will have to deal with right away
thats not to say they still cant get around it, but trample is out, flying is out, only intimidate will get the attack to you

Surprisingly useful... I was almost never upset to see this come out in the release tournament today. There are tons of creatures who just hang out on the battlefied or who are defenders anyway that benefit from this. For example:
Makindi Shieldmate
Soul Warden
etc
Awesome card for blocking those annoying flyers and beefing up your defense.

Combine with Kor Outfitter for a 0 cost equipment. Even if the outfitter just equips itself you have a 2\4 reach for
