I honestly HATE this card! I dislike most deathtouches but this one really irritates me! I don't know why. Just the name being called by my opponent makes my skin crawl. Not because it's very good. Just because I HATE it!

Question for the masses: If say, 3 lands came into play this turn, you get to choose 3 creatures to block the basilisk, correct? Do all 3 creatures get destroyed? As deathtouch only destroys a creature if the creature with deathtouch dealt combat damage to it, does the 3rd creature get destroyed since the basilisk only has a power magnitude of 2? Or does it simply have an inverse Palace Guard effect, where even though the amount of creatures being blocked by the Palace Guard surpasses it's toughness (4), all combat damage dealt will be dealt to the palace guard?

Yea if you read the rulings under details, you can make more than one creature block him if more than one land comes into play.

I wonder why they didn't keyword the guy w/ provoke. Anyway, a card that can kamakazi into Emrakul deserves some props.

Best UC in zendikar, he can take out most threats with that landfall ability, rarely seen together with deathtouch, it rocks.

Rancor on deathtouch creatures is amazing. I realize rancor is *always* amazing, but it's so so beautiful with a guy like this. You attract 2-3 blockers, kill them, and still get damage through. Even if you drop no lands, you get to attack for 4 and they probably block; card neutral beauty.

Trample + Deathtouch = <3
