Because blue needed more help? I'd like to see one tournament where EVERY top 8 didn't necessarily run blue.

I have a feeling that this might just be a little overrated. Just a little. It's a great counterspell early game, but it only hits noncreatures. Sure, it could mess them up greatly, but it's not worth a 4.5 rating in my opinion. This is a solid 4/5.

Hey, a cheap, Legacy-quality counterspell! It kills eager planeswalker drops, it fits into your curve, it's mighty against Force of Will, Cryptic Command, and Wrath of God, and even pitches to Force when the going gets tough. This is pretty decent at winning the counterspell war.
The list of casualties in Casual:
Geth's Verdict
Lightning Greaves
Garruk Relentless
Garruk, Primal Hunter
Vigilante Justice
Magma Jet
Blightning
Sword of Body and Mind
Cryptic Command
Exsanguinate
Sulfurous Blast
Mana Drain

It's a cheaper, more situational Negate. It should be interesting to see how this card fits into limited format.

In todays standard this would blow.
Creature go...
Creature go...
Creature go...

Even though I usually prefer to use Negate, I run this in my deck so I can tell my opponent "there's a hole in your plan" when he casts his winning spell.
