And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling mages, and that snoopy atog!!

in the current environment, naming volcanic fallout is a huge play. The opponent was hoping on wrecking your early drops easily, then coming in with bombs. you shut them down with meddling mage, drop a baneslayer, and see how they deal with it. usually by conceding.

I believe - though this card is amazing regardless of the playground you allow her to frolic in - she is especially amazing in Standard when all you have to remember is a few major players in the world of Type II play. After all, there is far less chance of you being wrong when there are only so few cards to pick from, no?

Zieg: The effect does not linger, I'm afraid. If you name a card, bounce this, replay it, and name another card, you don't get to negate two cards. Look at a card like Moat. It states, simply, that non-fliers can't attack. When it leaves play, that abilitiy ceases to function- which is good, of course, because otherwise it could shut-down most decks singlehandedly for the entirety of the game. The same holds for cards like Platinum Angel. If it was required to add the qualifier "As long as X remains on the battlefield...", you wouldn't need to protect your angel. As soon as you played it, it would grant you losing immunity, regardless of what happened to it. Now, you're right in that it doesn't end at the end of turn, of course. And bouncing it is useful if, for instance, you shutdown an early removal spell and now you want to defuse an impending bomb in the late game. But only Cloning can two-for-one your card shutdown. Or possibly some other ... (see all)

the artwork is astonishing, yet i don't really get how those flames are related to this W/U card.
i personally prefer the notorious oldschool artwork with the blue/yellow auras floating around the hands, which was also kept in the promo version.
