This in a deck with Brainstorms(etc.), Training Grounds and Sphinx of Magosi. Yikes.
The Sculptor, too. Maybe some Vedalken Heretics.
Sounds like fun :)

You have somewhat a point, ion1000.
However, this is not an example of an overpowered card. (the autocards link to popular removal spells)
Cards aren't necessarily getting strictly more powerful; the power-level of powerful cards are getting to be more obvious so that more people are able to properly evaluate cards. I'll name two good cards: Umezawa's Jitte and Jace, teh Mind Sculpter.
For which one of the two is it easier to explain why it's broken? They're both good, but it's more obvious for Jace. If they wanted to make this Coatl overpowered, it would've costed only .

Amazing card, he is useful in lots of ways and plays well with so many other cards and those are always the two standards I rate cards by. Built a whole deck around him.

the thing that makes this beater amazing isnt that it gets bigger then goyf with a single brainstorm, it is that you can play both in the same deck with counter top and a hand full of counters
