This guy is a monster in limited. I remember passing him during a draft then facing off a control black player. Turn 2 Blood Seeker, with no way to remove him due to Doom Blade and Shock being first picked heavily. My life kept getting sucked dry. The game came down to him at 4 life and me at 2 life. I was afraid to play a creature and he had plenty of life drain spells. I lost the game because I underestimated its value. He is no eclipsed by Blood Artist I wonder if he will see play now that the new guy is in town.

Utterly crushed by Suture Priest.
Because Wizards doesn't give a f**k about the color pie as long as the color benefiting from its disappearance is White.

"you may have" means that your enemy has the option not to lose a life, right?

i love the word may haha most of my friends never remember to make anyone lose the life. it also makes things like Forbidden Orchard a lot more useful. then it doesnt hurt so much to give your opponent a 1/1 spirt when you know its costing them a life as well

Pales in comparison to the slew of extremely powerful vampires in Zendikar. For two-drops, Vampire Hexmage and Bloodghast come to mind. It's a shame, because it's not really a bad card.
