I love this guy! I only have one question...
Suppose you're playing Commander, and your opponent has Rith, the Awakener or some other legendary dragon as their commander. Do you still steal it? Oh the insult of being killed by your own commander... That alone makes this guy worth 5 stars!

an interesting addition to a jund deck sideboard for mirror matches. Turn six, your opponent casts broodmate dragon. Turn seven, you cast Karrthus, take control of his two dragons, and attack for 15 with just your dragons alone. Even a terminate won't get his two broodmates back.

You shouldn't say there is a problem with a card because it has a (useful) conditional ability.
Because there isn't a problem with a 
cmc 7/7 flying, haste at all.

Shields of Velis Vel is an awesome combo.
Since you'd be using white, you could use a 'flicker' effect in MP to take other players creatures as well.

Death by Dragons is all well and good, yes. Karrthus is a very nice follow up, to be sure to be sure- but you know what I like doing? Sarkhan the Mad after that. With maybe a Doubling Season. Yep. Definitely a Good Idea :)
