I somehow remember this card being more common than a rare (though I know about the wacky rarity system back then).
In any case, 3 mana to draw 2 cards then put one back on top of library, it's fair though discard would have been better I think.

Part of the Boon Cycle from Fallen Empires, which were callbacks to the powerful 1-mana instants from Alpha. The tradeoff for these being artifacts and therefore being accessible to all colors was a hit to their effect, and an additional mana cost. These cards were:
Aeolipile - Lightning Bolt
Balm of Restoration - Healing Salve
Conch Horn - Ancestral Recall
Elven Lyre - Giant Growth
Implements of Sacrifice - Dark Ritual
This one may be the best of the bunch, though Aeolipile saw lots of play too. It provides any deck with a costlier Brainstorm, which is itself a very powerful card. As previously mentioned, this is extremely powerful in conjunction with Miracle cards, and other topdeck-matters strategies, ... (see all)
