@Kataklyzmik : This isn't something that is a good idea to use with Transcendence as each Age counter will end up making you gain 4 life each turn you pay the upkeep. Basically you pay 2 life the first turn and gain 4 life, the next turn you lose 4 life and gain 8 back, then 6 and 12, 8 and 16. Eventually paying the upkeep for Glacial Chasm will cause you to lose the game unless you make it go away or get rid of Transcendence or both.

That is actually a great idea! I don't know why people voted you down.
Any of the temporary basic land changers will break this card. As during your turn, it is a vanilla land that taps for a color and allows you to attack while during theirs (well, on your end step) it becomes it's old self, preventing all damage. You get all of the positive effects without any of the negative (except the one time sac-a-land trigger).
Just remember to change it on their end phase since, as with all EOT triggers, it won't change back until the NEXT (your) end phase.

@vadaaaa: Camulative upkeep is optional, same reason you cant just donate a sheltering ancient and ubber pump your creatures, they have the option to just sac it.
oh, and Grixis Illusionist. Tap during there end step and you now no longer have to pay the upkeep.
