I always liked this card. I would definitely run it over Doom Blade, although over Go for the Throat is up for debate. Black creatures are just more common than artifact ones. And, duh, run it with 4x Terminates as well. Most of the time this should be your slightly higher CMC but less color-heavy Terminate copies 5-8.

What are all of you smoking for rating this so low? This is a red precursor to Murder, and well worth the 3 mana spent.

Great for removing huge bombs with protection from black.

I love this card. It's red spot removal, so it can kill Great Sable Stag and all of those other pro-black creatures that green is so fond of. Also, when run with Doom Blade and terminate, you can wipe out anything (except Akroma, Angel of Wrath, of course).

You guys are missing the beauty of it. Play mono red. Run red-black split cards. Use red kill spells.

This is the card that kills White Knight, Terminate doesn't.

Really like this one. I always have it in a black and red deck. But I admit that Terminate is better. Only advantage this thing has is that you can play it even you haven't been able to play swamp yet. And ya it kills White Knight too ^^

Terminate is usually more reliable, but this gets round Pro-black

Totally agree with holgir/Darklit_Gargoyle/God_of_Destruction this card is great.
@Darkersun
Have you never heard of a multi color deck? or do you not believe in multicolor combos? Throwing these into a deck with Terminate makes a great creature destruction deck. If you haven't noticed the last what? 3 Sets? have all been geared toward making people use multicolor decks.
