Love the artwork. I am unsure as to whether the creature is worth 1GWU and whether the cycle + 1/1 is worth plus 2W, though. I guess it could use something.
More than that, even, I find the cycle + 1/1 seems unfitting for the flavour. Spread the light? Maybe something with mana or land or indeed card draw. I don't know, really. Something makes me want to keep this card on the field, not discard it. Probably the art.

I think this card is pretty awesome; definitely well balanced.
And my Fable of Wolf and Owl/Lorescale Coatl deck likes him a lot.
