Seems decent. You can tutor for a Mountain when you need it, and, if nothing else, it's a "decent" creature. It might fit into a land destruction deck?

It's a multi-tasker like Krosan Tusker. I like it.

I like cards that boost up with small mana. This is a nice card, and if it comes to your hand too early you can always trade it for a Mountain. 3.5/5

I'd almost sooner always cycle it, as the cost for the creature itself seems rather high...same converted cost as Shivan Dragon, minus the Flying and a -1/-1 counter? Sigh.

The problem with this whole cycle is that you don't also get the draw from the Cycling like you do with the Tusker. Somewhat underpowered for that reason.

You can use this to tutor for Stomping Ground and whatnot. But your probably better off with Farseek. Still can double as a creature if you need it.

Mana ramp early, decent creature late game. Versitile, like Tusker, but different. Yes tusker draws, but he only gets basic lands. This is any mountain; basic, shock, dual.
Would I run this my deck for the creature only? No way. But its a decent option for red mana search, plus the added bonus of being able to search up dual lands, it would be a fine choice for EDH, limited, or even a beast-themed deck.
EDIT: spelling
