I run this card with Nomads Assembly from the Rise of the Eldrazi set. I've got a mono white deck with three of these cards in it, get one or two of them going and cast Nomads Assembly and you've got the start of a wicked little army.

I like my tea how I like my card advantage. Not blue!
I'm sorry, that was really weird.

@DarthMohawk1 Instead of going through all the trouble of casting three additional creatures for ten total mana to give Captain of the Watch and her wingmen +1/+1 and first strike, you can get all that for only three mana and one card in the form of Field Marshal. (True, his is a world effect, but what are the odds you'll be going up against another soldier deck?)
On another note, this card is amazing; creature advantage is often key in Magic, and a card that buffs all your creatures plus giving you three more to boot is flabbergasting. This one card has enough behind it to be able to turn the tide of battle in a lot of instances or transform your already powerful army into a tidal wave in others. Throw all she has to offer on top of white's trademark universal buffs, and she goes from from powerful to "Hold onto you butts..."
Six mana is on the higher end, but four creatures with vigilance and a combined total P/T of 9/9 makes her more than worth the cost. But e... (see all)

At 6 cost, this absolute bomb rounds out the high end of the white weenie mana curve. Except in the case of a 7-drop (or more) martial coup for board clearing (usually ftw as well), this will be the late game answer to broodmate dragon and the like. While baneslayer angel is powerful at 5, captain of the watch is truly superb. First of all, unlike siege-gang, she buffs her own tokens without the help of such buffs as honor of the pure or veteran armorsmith/swordsmith. So unlike siege-gang which creates a total 5 power/toughness for 5 cost, she produces 9 for a cost of 6, assuming your board is empty (worst case scenario). Which means that in a single color, not 3, she is more powerful than broodmate dragon, even alone. Were there any soldiers in play, or an honor of the pure, she creates either 2/3, 3/2, 3/3, 3/4, or 4/4 soldiers (assuming a single copy of armorsmith, sword, honor, honor/armor, honor/sword, or honor/sword/armor). Also, she survives volcanic fallout/infest by herself, a... (see all)

Can think of it like a 9/9 in four bodies with vigilance that buffs your other creatures for six mana. That sounds pretty good. And if it dies, it leaves behind 3 1/1s (who are probably 3/3s from all the lords you already have out.) And Ballyrush Banneret (what kinda name is that anyway??!) and Daru Warchief say this can drop turn four or five.
Thatsa lotta power in one card.

A 3/3 and three 2/2s, all with vigilance, for the bargain price of six mana? Now this is how I like my creature advantage. And of course other soldiers such as the Veteran Swordsmith, Veteran Armorsmith, and even Rhox Pikemaster help transform the Cap'n's trio of dorks into a fearsome execution squad.
