if wizards reprints Raise the Alarm or Even the Odds or even make some kind of new soldiery Spectral Procession to help create a soldier horde that Captain of the Watch will pump, i will be a very happy man.

Too expensive? Are you f*$%@*g kidding me? This cards is a frightening beast, and just imagining it with Honor of the Pure makes me sick. White in M10 is incredibly overpowered and this card is another testimony of this fact. Whatever happened to BALANCE OF COLORS? That ain't important anymore? Look at blue. Just look at it. It's pathetic. Worthless garbage, mostly reprints. White, on the other hand, got a s**tload of new dope, including this. This whole set is just ridiculous.

She is expensive, but she hits the board with an audible thud. If played correctly she's out as early as turn three. Are there answers for her? Sure, she's just a creature. But if they don't have them in hand, they're in trouble quickly. You never don't want to see her if you've got the mana to get her out. And when she 'works' and sticks around long enough to send her boys in, it's a thing of beauty.

Oddly enough, Captain of the Watch has been used mainly in control decks, not white weenies. Spawning 3 chump blockers along with herself gives you card advantage, and buys you time as long as the opponent's creatures don't have trample or flying (which you'll use your counters/spot removal on them, or block with wall of denial).

Although I think that has to do more with the fact that multicolor decks are just so much stronger than monocolored decks...

@MONOWHITEALLTHEWAY
A white/blue land isn't a blue permanent. It's color is "land"
If I followed your plan I'd have, on turn seven, one 5/5 trample/vigilance, one 3/3 vigilance, and three 2/2 vigilance. Not eight 5/5 trample/vigilance like you said.

Now to the card, it's an amzing card in soldier decks, a great card for white weenie in general, and a good card on it's own. If you're using white in your deck then there isn't much of a reason not to include this.

Too expensive to cast to be viable in real competitive decks. Sure, Preeminent Captain helps, but if you don't draw him you are stuck with a 6 drop you can't play. This card is not superior enough in the 6 CMC slot to make a deck around it. There are far better 6 CMC creatures in Magic. Yes, it has good synergy with soldiers, but it is just too expensive. Now, a casting cost of 4 CMC would be a different story.

Bottom line: 6 CMC limits his usefulness and viability in Legacy and competitive decks.

And yes, it needs more cow bell.
