I went up against this guy and when he became a soldier, I commanded him, atlas'd a land, and my roil elemental let me keep him. I love blue red.

He gets five for flavor.
Have a few things to add:
"Blowing up tapped creatures is mainly a black ability." Actually not, blowing up creatures period is black. Tapped destruction is a white thing, it always has been sort of "punishment for attacking" flavor wise.
"still waiting for yawgmoth planeswalker, pls just implode all these stupid planes and go back to dominaria"
While Yawgmoth did use technology to traverse the planes, he is not a planeswalker. He never was.

The +2 is incredible, in my opinion. Many times, I've been in a situation where I wish the opponent would attack, so battle would be on my terms, not theirs. If you have things like indestructible Palace Guards, you have no worries. The -2 is obviously a response to the +2.
But the 0 is where he shines. In a set where Eldrazi loom overhead, people forget about the Soldier decks from M10. If you stick him in there, he's pumped, has Vigilance, First Strike, and whatever other tricks you may have for soldiers (there are . . . a few).
@pixieCrack
Why can afford him, you ask? I can. He's about 4$ when he comes in a booster. That's how I got Kalitas, Lorthos, Lotus Cobra, Sorin Markov, Elvish Pipers, Darksteel Colossus, Liliana Vess, Garruk, Jace, Admonition Angel, Xathrid Demon, and most of my other stuff. Fat-packs are also pretty nice investments for 35$ a piece.

He'd be even better if he wasn't wearing Magebane Armor.

Those things on his right wrist remind me of whiplash's whip from Iron Man.
Anyway, this guy is straight up obnoxious to deal with. :/

Unfortanitely, turning into a creature means you get whacked in the face with a Terminate : )

@WhiteyMcFly: And how can he do it? Which of his three abilities let you win in the same turn he enters the battlefield? Force to attack -> next turn. Assassinate (or Vengeance) can't destroy a blocker. And when he turns into a creature, he's affected by summoning sickness. So, he doesn't let you win in the same turn, but the turn later, as Garruk.

My favorite - someone played his last ability and turned him into a 6/6. I then Doom-Bladed him.
